Malibu

Malibu November 23-29 Malibu Beach RV Park What can I say about Malibu, other than it’s so beautiful. The view from the RV park is stunning. The sun rises and sets in a way that doesn’t seem possible. We were able to spend more time with good friends. We spent Thanksgiving here, our great friend Rudj and his mother came over for Thanksgiving dinner. I ordered it from Whole Foods, all of it, pre-cooked and it just needed heating. It was really very good. Not as good as home-made but it was great for our needs. While we were...

Sequoia National Park

November 20-22 Sequoia RV Ranch This was a great little campground, and it was only ten minutes from the park. We saw three black bears in the first 24 hours, but we couldn’t get any pictures of them. We spent two days kicking around the park. The sequoia trees are just mind-blowingly huge! We didn’t realize there would be snow up where The Giant Forest was, we weren’t prepared. We were all a little too cold to go for a walk in the trees. The next day we bundled up, the kids got to have a snowball fight among...

Morro Bay

November 16-19 Morro Dunes Campground We weren’t sure what to expect here. What we got was a quaint fishing town with a great beach. We could ride our bikes 5 minutes away to the bay where there were docks and restaurants. There were sea otters in the bay, super cute. I could watch them all day. We also saw some lazy sea lions hanging in the water under the docks. Most of our free time here was spent walking on the beach and riding bikes. One day, after work/school, we went up the coast to San Simeon where there...

Monterey/ Big Sur

November 8-16 San Benito RV & Campground Resort We have been looking forward to this since we were in Colorado, this part of CA is so beautiful. We are staying kind of far from Monterey, but it’s free, so we do this at times to save money. The weather was a bit cold and rainy, we also had school and work so we stayed put at the campground until Ken’s birthday. November 11 On Ken’s birthday, we went whale watching in Monterey Bay off Moss Landing. It was a magical day. We saw sea lions, seals, sea otters, about...

Santa Barbara / Solvang

November 4-7 Rancho Oso RV Resort & Campground We were happy to be getting further north. There are so many amazing things about doing a trip like this, it has also had it’s challenges. No phone service or internet here, their website says differently. Ken had to get up at 5 am to drive down to Starbucks so he could work. We could communicate through text, but that was all. I really liked the campground, it was just a bit isolated. We went to Santa Barbara pier one night. We walked around and had dinner at a place on...
